Mercedes is facing BMW which you think is stronger

This is the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class: design close to the S-Class and electrified engines

The German carmaker has published the first images and information on the new generation C-Class. To meet the new emission standards, the range of engines is electrified and consists only of four-cylinder units.

After more than 10.5 million units sold since 1982 and until now, the time has come for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class to receive a new generation. Fifth.

The new C-Class is developed on the same platform as the S-Class flagship, which is why it resembles it in many ways. One would be the exterior design.

MINI CLASS S

The main attractions include the large front grille, the slightly sharper headlights with high-performance LED technology as standard or the horizontal rear headlights.

MINI CLASS S

The main attractions include the large front grille, the slightly sharper headlights with high-performance LED technology as standard or the horizontal rear headlights.

Not to mention the headlights, the Digital Light system, which debuted with the new S-Class, is included in the list of optional features. It includes 3 extremely powerful LEDs in each headlight, 1.3 million micro-mirrors, a total resolution of 2.6 million pixels and can even project various symbols on the asphalt.

In terms of dimensions, the new C-Class has a length of 4,751 millimeters (+65 mm), the width measures 2,033 mm (+13 mm) and 2,865 millimeters (+25 mm) are passed near the wheelbase. The height of the sedan version is 1,455 millimeters (-7 mm), and the station wagon version measures 1,438 mm (-9 mm).

The interior is more refined and digitized than ever. The shape of the dashboard is similar to that of the flagship, the digital dashboard instrumentation can be ordered with a 10.25 or 12.3 inch screen, and the multimedia system display (tablet type) with a diagonal of 11.9 inches takes over many of the functions of the physical buttons for a look more airy.

Like the S-Class, the new generation C-Class is equipped with the second iteration of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience system, or MBUX for short.

Passengers have more room for both the head and the shoulders or knees.

The trunk volume remained unchanged for the C-Class Sedan (455 liters), but increased by 30 liters in the case of the station wagon version (490 or 1,510 with the rear seats folded down.)
ELECTRIC MOTORIZED, WITH FOUR CYLINDERS

Emission standards are becoming more drastic. That’s why Mercedes-Benz has electrified the entire range of engines, which now includes only four-cylinder units, petrol and diesel. Consequently, the thermal unit is offered either with an electric motor (plug-in hybrid) or with a 48 V generator starter (micro-hybrid) that increases by 20 hp and 200 Nm in overboost.

The only transmission available will be the nine-speed automatic.

The entry is made with the C 180. Equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, this version has 170 hp and 250 Nm of torque, enough to reach 100 km / h in 8.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 231 km

Fans of diesel engines have at their disposal the 1.9-liter unit that offers either 200 hp and 440 Nm (C 220 d) or 265 hp and 550 Nm (C 330 d).

HYBRID PLUG-IN VERSION WITH 100 KM AUTONOMY

As for the plug-in version that will start later, the electric motor in the propulsion system develops 95 kW (equivalent to 129 hp), 440 Nm of torque and works with a 25.4 kWh battery, developed by Mercedes-Benz AG .

The electrical range announced by the manufacturer is up to 100 kilometers (calculated according to the WLTP standard).

The air suspension is reserved for hybrid plug-in versions, and full steering is optional. A first in the segment, the latter offers extra maneuverability and stability, but we are certainly talking about a less sophisticated system than the one with which the S-Class is equipped.

  1. I'm a huge bmw fanboy for decades, owned quite a few of them, mostly coupes but they have lost it in recent years. The new c class looks way better in every aspect and way more modern. Between these two, the 3 series looks like it's a generation older car, too many buttons and cheapish design clues in the central console below the screen and that poor design can translate to all over from the outside looks as well. Even though I'm not a fan of this C class interior, too many shiny plastic everywhere and too many lights, too big central screen. But over all it is just way more modern than the bimmer.

This C class is the last nail to the bmw coffin, i'm afraid. They will have to redesign all of their models really soon, like next year, if they want to compete but seeing a fugly joke cars they are putting out that not gonna happen. What a fools they have become.

  2. MERCEDES NO 1 Bmw no 2 Audu no 3 lexsus no 4

  3. C class looks much more better and sportier! Interior is perfect!

  4. In regards the side view, 3 series looks closer to 5 series, but C-class looks closer to A sedan. As well as the rear. BMW is sleeker in that sense.

  5. BMW looks so dated in overall design except exterior rear, dashboard control is garbage but it’s still offering the best driving experience, Merc comes close but smoke all cars on designs in same model range.

  6. The MB leapfrogged the BMW .Especially in tech and fit and finish .Back to the drawing board BMW

  7. BMW for driving pleasure, the Beemer looks better than the Mercedes from the outside. For the interior and comfort, I give it to the Merc.

  8. C-Class is luxury and comfort. The 3-Series is a drivers car. Having owned both, I prefer the BMW.

  9. Both are from the same mother…..

  10. The only view where I like the BMW a bit more is the profile. It has a sportier look. But the new front fascia is downright strange, and the rear and tailights lost the "that's definitely a BMW" look, though the Merc lost a bit of its lineage there too. Overall, the Mercedes for me. At the end of the day, it also looks more like money and luxury than the BMW. Not that that's important to me 😉

  11. I've owned both bmw & mercedes and I've never understood why people prefer one over the other. But if my opinion matters, I'd be Mercedes all the way.

  12. bmw mercedes’in yanına yaklaşamaz mercedes perfect

  13. I want c classes interior with BMW's drive system.
