The new Mark 2 Tiguan has gone through a serious growth spurt! In addition to growing 11 inches in length and 3 inches in width, the most notable change comes with the addition of third row seats. With a boxy classic SUV look and infinitely more interior space, the VW Tiguan is making some serious noise in the segment.
Top trim SEL models also come with all the goodies you would need and then some! Examples include a full safety suite lane keep assist, bling spot monitoring, forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise, and more. This is not to mention the option 12.3 inch VW Digital Cockpit that is full customize-able and can be saved for up to three different drivers. You’re going to pay for all those toys, but less than you might expect with a decked out Tiguan coming in around $36,000.
A HUGE thank you goes out to HALL Volkswagen for providing the car for this video!!!

7.5 inches to the wheel base?! That is at least 5!

Next: Artion
Interesting that you said it had a trucky feel cuz that's what I've been looking for. Good review.
Is there an option to have the auto start/stop off
Nice review! I purchased mine, a Silver White SE with the sunroof and 4Motion, just two weeks ago. So far, I’m loving it.
Although it’s EPA rated at 27 MPG highway, I’m averaging 27 in mixed driving, and got 37 MPG on a 150 mile highway trip. Mind you this is on regular 87 octane fuel (premium is not required) on an engine with less than 500 miles on it, in Sport mode (transmission and vehicle dynamics), and with the annoying auto start/stop feature disabled. Not much to complain about there!
My only gripe so far — and this is something I read about before I bought the car — was the hesitation off the line at times. I honestly don’t think it’s turbo lag; to me it feels like a programming issue, as it doesn’t happen all the time. The car is simply unresponsive for a split second, making it difficult to take off smoothly and potentially scary if you’re trying to merge into traffic. It stands out as an almost unforgivable flaw only because the rest of the vehicle is so refined, and it’s really inexcusable at this price point. I’m hoping VW will address this soon.
It’s not a quick vehicle, but the drop in horsepower is more than offset by the increase in torque, so in daily driving it’s not as big an issue as the numbers would lead you to believe.
Dont buy it!!! Im a current owner, the panoramic roof lighting catches fire!!! They claim due to humidity !? Humidity?? They have not made it known to the public, only current owners threw the mail. I own mine 8 months ive hade nothing but problems with my roof , now it catches fire, nice. The ambient lighting catches fire. Ask ur dealer see what he or she tells u. Im letting u no,! Its a defect. Id be happy to answer any questions u may have.
I just bought the 2018 Tiguan in black and it’s been 3 days and also my first SUV coming from sports cars I love it!
My nabe just got one, in white of course, only color it seems to come in lol, I have to say it looks awesome in her driveway. "Compact" but not puny looking like many other small 'utes. Now, Mr Matt, please do the XC40!
Where's my sunroof? Never given that option!!
Great video!! I’m seriously considering getting a SEL Premium R Line very soon!!
