Finally! An OEM (VWAG) HomeLink Garage Door Opener / Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror With Compass for the MK7! Looks like VW finally has a model that offers these features and the shared architecture now makes it available for the Golf. I was told this version is for cars with the DAP package (auto rain sensing wipers, lane assist, etc).
VW Part Number = 000.072.548f
Seems you get different results on Google if you search without the dots…Try both = 000072548f
I ordered mine from the local VW dealer, got it next day.
The auto dimming headlights/brights is controlled by the lane assist camera so that should not be an issue, I found that information in my owners manual, I had initially thought it was part of the mirror.

The install was a bit frustrating with the camera setup so i’m working on some editing before posting but I got the install completed.
NOTE! I was able to re-use the existing wiring and did not use the harness that came with the HomeLink Mirror so only the mirror swap was required. No wiring, no coding nothing, just plug and play. Well, you have to program the HomeLink button of course.
